Janet Theresa Nichols, 73, of Holts Summit, Missouri, died Thursday, November 28, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born on November 4, 1940, in Osage County, the daughter of the late Lewis B. and Josephine R. Berhorst Klebba. She was married on December 14, 1968, in Jefferson City to William Jacob Nichols who preceded her in death on April 6, 1999. A 1958 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia, Mrs. Nichols retired in 2000 as Data Entry Supervisor with the Missouri Department of Social Services where she had been employed for 35 years. She had previously worked for Linn Manufacturing Company for one year; the Bermuda NCO Club for one year; and the Missouri Highway Department for two years. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church; Ladies Sodality; VFW Ladies Auxiliary; American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; Holts Summit 50-Plus Club; Holts Summit Retirees Club; and the XYZ Club. Survivors include one daughter, Debbie (David) Hammon, Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one son, Rick Nichols, Holts Summit; one step-son, Jim (Terry) Nichols, Jefferson City; seven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (Norma) Klebba, Linn, Missouri; and three sisters, Marie Morfeld, Linn, Missouri; Agnes Voss, Linn, Missouri; and Lillian (Ronald) Cassmeyer, Folk, Missouri. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis F. Klebba and Harold Klebba; and two brothers-in-law, Stephen Morfeld and Wilbert Voss. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Holts Summit, with the Rev. Msgr. Gregory L. Higley officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Andrew Catholic Church, 400 St. Andrew Drive, Holts Summit, MO 65043; Callaway Hills Animal Society, 2714 State Road TT, New Bloomfield, MO 65063; or Masses.
