Hakeem A. Rahim

Hakeem A. Rahim, (Sandy Lee Nunnelly), "Chuckie", 50, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Mexico, went home to be with his heavenly father on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Hakeem was born on March 10, 1963, to Butler C. and Jean L. Nunnelly Sr. He graduated from Mexico High School in 1981. He also graduated from Lincoln University (Jefferson City, Mo.) with a Bachelor Degree of Sociology in 1985, and Master of Art in Sociology in 1987. He served in the ROTC and the Army Reserve. He worked at Wood Haven (Columbia), Audrain Handicap Service (Mexico), and R & R Donnelly Factory (Jefferson City). Initial Muslim Mosque in Columbia, Garfield Drill Team and volunteered with Mexico Park and Recreation and afterschool study programs. Left to cherish his memories are six children, one son, Cannon Gardner of Kileen, Texas; five daughters, Sandace and Stacie Palmer of Baton Rouge, La., Crenda Warren of Columbia, Mo., Khala Fowler of Mexico, and Messiah Simpson of Jefferson City, Mo.; five grandsons, Elijah, Adrain, A'monti, Joeantez, and Johntearion; seven sisters, Judy Thomas of Kansas City, Mo., Gweneth Williams and Jacqueline Nunnelly of Jefferson City, Tonette Harris of Davenport, Iowa, Lanette and Alice Nunnelly, Marylus (Kenneth) Thompson of Mexico; seven brothers, Rodney Thomas, William (Ruth), Butler (Myra), James (Zelia), Daniel and Conrad Nunnelly, all of Mexico; aunt, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death along with his parents are one son, Donald L. Hill; one brother, Howard; two sisters, Marsha Kay and Elizabeth; one nephew, Andy; two great-nephews and one great-niece. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Arnold Funeral Home. A visitation is from 12 - 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
