Lois Jean Dickenson, age 79, of Jefferson City, passed away, Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Adams Street Place after a short of battle with cancer. She married Dave Pavitt and to this union two children were born. She married Robert W. Dickenson on August 14, 1978. She was a switchboard operator for Scholastic, Inc., for many years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Community Christian Church in Jefferson City. Lois Jean was also a member of the Lioness Club, the Red Hatters and various camping clubs. Survivors include two children and their spouses, Doug and Patti Pavitt and Jennifer and Wilfred Plochberger, all of Jefferson City; one brother, Neil Amos of Starkville, Miss.; six grandchildren, Laura Koestner, Eric (Mary) Koestner, Kurt Pavitt, Amy Connor, Mitchell (Laura) Plochberger and Michelle (Darren) Collins; 11 great-grandchildren, Treí, Baylen, Adrian, Natalie, Ella, Lance, Bethanee, Trenton, Lyndli, Garrett and Trevor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl S. and Helen Glover Amos; her children's father, Dave Pavitt; and her husband, Robert Dickenson. Services will be 10:30 a.m.; Saturday, April 6, at the Community Christian Church at 409 Ellis Blvd in Jefferson City. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, at the Community Christian Church.
