Herbert F. Wyrick, 83, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013, at Villa Marie in Jefferson City. He was born on December 31, 1929, in Jefferson City, the son of Samuel Franklin and Hester Elizabeth (Weitz) Wyrick, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on July 9, 1969, in Jefferson City to Ruby J. Connell, who survives of Jefferson City. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Herbert worked at Busch's Florist for over 10 years; after that he worked as a lawn maintenance supervisor at the Governor's Mansion and on the Capitol grounds, and retired from the Department of Natural Resources. He was a member of VFW Post #1003, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Jefferson City. He is survived by two sons, Danny Elliott and wife Glenda, and Steve Elliott, all of Jefferson City; one brother, Bill Wyrick of Jefferson City; one sister, Ellen Repper and husband Bob of Naples, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Howard and Ron Elliott; and one daughter, Brenda Elliott. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near Marion. Officiating will be Rev. David Avery. Visitation will also be held on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
