Louis Henry Hentges, 95, of Jefferson City, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on August 9, 1917, in Cole County, the son of the late Henry Charles and Josephine Margaret (Distler) Hentges. He was united in marriage on September 28, 1943, in St. Martins, to Marie Margaret Meller, who resides at the home. Louis was a farmer and was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church. Louis enjoyed cutting wood up to the age of 94 years old. Other survivors include: four children, Marilyn Hagerman, Columbia; Harold (Cecilia) Hentges, Jefferson City; Cecilia (Kenneth) Rademan, Koeltztown; Henry (Rita) Hentges, Freeburg; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Brondel; and one sister-in-law, Jo Ann Hentges. He was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Matthew Wadley; and three brothers, Clarence, Cletus, and Sylvester Hentges. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon, Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin A Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at St. Martin Catholic Church with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Martin School Building Fund, 7206 St. Martins Ave, Jefferson City, MO 65109. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
