Rebecca Bales Staley, 74, of Bluffton, S.C., passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at NHC Healthcare, Bluffton. Rebecca was born in Jefferson City, Mo., on August 13, 1938, and was the daughter of the late David Lee and Florence Corwin Bales. Rebecca moved to Bluffton 22 years ago and was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Rebecca is survived by her sons, Jim Ventura of South Park, Pa., David Ventura (Kathy Taylor) of Chadds Ford, Pa., and Ray Ventura of Bluffton, S.C.; two daughters, Karen Hickey (John) of Leesburg, Fla. and Pam Popoli (Charlie) of Millbrook, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Natalie Ventura and Nathan Ventura. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Rd., Bluffton. The family will receive friends from 5:30 til 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton.
