Gregory "Greg" W. Roberds Jr., 22, of California, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012, near California. He was born on January 17, 1990, in Jefferson City, the son of Gregory Roberds Sr. and step-mother Angela, who survive in Lexington, South Carolina, and Malista (Monroe) and step-father Mitch Anderson, who survive of the home. Greg graduated from California High School in 2008. He was a mail clerk for the Jefferson City News Tribune where he acquired great friendships with whom he golfed and went target shooting. As a child he loved ATA Tae-Kwon-Do, soccer, Cub Scouts, a passion for Christ, and he enjoyed vacationing with his grandparents. As a young man he enjoyed cars, a girl, music, friends, being a big brother (Bubba), and his cat Socks. As a man he loved to pick his guitar and listening to music, deer hunting, fishing, and canoeing. He had a passion for guns and started a collection. He is also survived by three step-brothers, Zachary Weed of Lexington, South Carolina, Bryan Anderson and wife Jessica of Taos, and Alden Hallford of California; one sister, Kristen Hallford of the home; one step-sister, Brittany Kandlbinder of Jefferson City; step maternal grandparents, Cecil and Jean Anderson of Russellville; paternal grandparents, Bob and Ginger Miller of Russellville, and Buck and Bonnie Roberds of Valparaiso, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Monroe. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Burial will be at the Annunciation Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Mathes. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Memorials are suggested to the Kids of National Rifle Association, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak St., California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
