Carolyn Kay Barrows

Ms. Carolyn Kay "Casey" Barrows, age 69 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. Casey was born on September 17, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo., a daughter of Lee A. and Marie A. Wollam Barrows. She grew up in Kahoka, Mo. and was a 1961 graduate of Kahoka High School. A resident of Jefferson City since 1988, Casey was employed with the Missouri State Tax Commission in the Special Assistance Office for 19 years retiring in 2008. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and antiquing, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her large family. Survivors include: two daughters, Amanda Doeing of South Riding, Va. and Jane Gillespie and her husband Bruce of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Anna Gillespie, Zachary Fata, and William Fata; three brothers, Guy Barrows and his wife Beverly of Revere, Mo., Lester Barrows and his wife Nadine of Jefferson City, Mo., and Ray Barrows and his wife Sandy of Spring Lake, N.C.; three sisters, Geraldine Leach of Evans, Ga., Marilyn "Mert" Zinnert of Kahoka, Mo., and Ina Wray and her husband Neil of Warrensburg, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Colleen Barrows Hancock of Warrensburg, Mo. and Anita Barrows of Jefferson City, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mitchell James Underwood on April 3, 1993; and three brothers, Leroy Barrows, Allen Barrows, and Norman Barrows.
