Freeda M. Seaton, age 91, of Meta, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at St. Joseph Bluffs in Jefferson City. She was born in Maries County on February 8, 1921, daughter of the late Fred and Unie (Wilson) Woody. On July 1, 1944, in Dixon, Freeda married Earney Clay Seaton, who preceded her in death on September 25, 1992. Freeda was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting and making crafts. Freeda was a member of Campground Christian Church near Meta. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Barnhart and husband Shelby of Meta and Connie Harper and husband Ron of McKinney, Texas; three grandchildren, Stacy Fuller of Jefferson City, Curtis Barnhart of Kansas City, and Chrissy Simmons of Southlake, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Brianna and Vivian Fuller and Aidan and Campbell Simmons; and one sister, Wanita Goutreau of Houston, Texas. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar Woody, Virgil Woody and one sister, Aldine Barnhart. Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012, at Campground Christian Church near Meta. Bro. Manuel Seaton and Rev. Shelby Barnhart will officiate. Interment will be in Pendleton Cemetery near Meta. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
