Robert Ewing Dallmeyer Jr., 82, of Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City, Missouri. Mr. Dallmeyer was born August 21, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Robert E. Dallmeyer Sr., and Margaret Smith Dallmeyer. A life-long resident of Jefferson City, he graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1948 and was a 1953 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was married to the former Mrs. Rosemary Diekroeger (Palmer), and together they have two children, Elizabeth (Libby) Blair and Robert Ewing Dallmeyer III. Bob served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Camp Polk, Louisiana, during the Korean War. He returned to Jefferson City and was co-owner with Mr. Russell Rinklin of the 7-UP Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. He later was a lobbyist for numerous companies and organizations, including the Missouri Soft Drink Association, CPA Society, Missouri Milk Board and Hallmark Cards. Mr. Dallmeyer served on a number of boards and held positions with various organizations throughout the community, including the Jefferson City School Board, Jefferson City Country Club, United Missouri Bank, Memorial Community Hospital/Capital Region Medical Center, Capital Region Medical Foundation Board of Trustees, and The MASTERS Program. Bob enjoyed working on his farm and traveling. Mr. Dallmeyer is survived by one daughter, Libby Blair and husband Allen along with their three children: Amy, Catherine and David Blair, all of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Rob Dallmeyer and his fiancÈe Elizabeth Copp of Jefferson City; his dear friend, Wilda Bryan of Jefferson City; a niece, Margaret Dallmeyer Hopper of Jefferson City; and a nephew, William A. Dallmeyer IV, of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by a brother, William A. Dallmeyer III. We would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's Bluffs and Heisinger Bluffs for caring for Bob in such a kind manner during the last year of his life. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to The MASTERS Program or the University of Missouri Tiger Scholarship Fund.
