Dixie Dean Nebel

Dixie Dean Nebel, 93, a former resident of Jefferson City, passed away, Monday, October 1, 2012, in Laguna Beach, Calif. Dixie was born and grew up in Holt, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Dixie was a loving mother, a supportive wife and a helpful grandmother and a very special great-grandmother. During her lifetime she made many loyal and loving friends, she did many kind and loving acts and in her business life, Dixie worked as an administrative assistant for her husband's stock brokerage firm and later she served as a clerk of the Missouri Senate in Jefferson City, Mo. At the Capital, Dixie prepared the bills that were presented to the Senate. Dixie loved to cook and play bridge. She loved flowers and birds and she knew the names of all the birds and flowers in her garden. She is survived by her loving son Larry Nebel and her daughters-in-law, Krista Nebel and June Nye-Nebel and her devoted and loving grandchildren: children of Larry and June Nye- Nebel: Larra Nebel of New York, Andrew Nebel of Kansas City, Jeffrey Nye and Cathy Nye, Mark Nye and Jennifer Nye (parents of Dixie's great-grandchildren Wyatt and Zoe Nye) and John Nye of California. Children of Rodney Nebel: Julie Nebel Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson (parents of Dixie's great-grandchildren Caroline and Lilly Johnson), Katie Nebel, Sarah Nebel and Susie Nebel of Georgia. Children of Rick and Krista Nebel: Rachel Cisco, Jonathon and Jayme Cisco (parents of Dixie's great-grandson Quinn Cisco), Lydia Nebel and Richard Nebel of Bolivar, Missouri. Dixie was preceded in her journey to heaven by her husband, Emil Harman (String) Nebel and two of her sons, Richard (Rick) Forrist Nebel and Rodney (Rod) True Nebel. The family will honor her life at a Memorial service at Dixie's life-long church: The First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, 301 E. Capitol Ave., on: October 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be held in the Duke Chapel. Those attending please enter on the Monroe Street side of the church.
