Evelyn Pearl Binkley

Evelyn Pearl Binkley, age 88, of Eugene, Mo., passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Eldon Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born January 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Arthur Benjamin and Settie (Jefferies) Wallis. She was married on April 10, 1940 in Jefferson City, to Mark L Binkley, who preceded her in death on March 30, 2006. Evelyn worked many years for the International Shoe Company from which she retired. A longtime resident of the Eugene community, Evelyn was a member of the Eugene Christian Church, teaching Sunday school for many years. Evelyn was an avid sports fan and spent many years supporting Eugene High School athletic teams. A favorite past time in her retirement years was spending many summer evenings watching Cardinal baseball with Mark. She enjoyed traveling the U.S., camping, attending Southern Gospel Music concerts, gardening and spending time with family. She is survived by sons Dennis (Cindy) Binkley of Centerview, Mo., and Gail (Vicki) Binkley of Eugene; daughter-in-law, Katherine Binkley of Eugene; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark L.; one son, Billy Gene Binkley Sr.; one grandson, Paul Binkley; a great-great-grandson, Syrus Duncan; and all of her brothers and sisters. Visitation services will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Eugene Christian Church. The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Jerry Kilson officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Spring Garden Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the Eugene Church following the graveside services. Memorials are suggested to Show Me Christian Youth Home of Lamont, Mo. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
