Michael Andrew Knipp

Michael Andrew Knipp, 71, Tipton, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at his home. He was born August 18, 1941, a son of Andrew Joseph and Marguerite Julia Veulemans Knipp. On April 18, 1964, in Tipton, he married Sharon Knipp, who survives of the home. Mr. Knipp graduated from Eldon High School in 1959. He had been disabled many years. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tipton. He enjoyed cars, historical facts and sharing his gift of humor. Also surviving is a son, Jay Knipp with his wife Stacy, Jefferson City; two daughters, Christy Knipp, Jefferson City, and Debra Hirst with her husband Rob, Tipton; a brother, Forrest "Bo" Knipp with his wife Linda, Shawnee, Kan.; two sisters, Barbara Koonse with her husband Robert, Boonville, and Francis Mayes; and eight grandchildren, Taylor and Blake Steinmetz, Derrick Michael, Andrew and Jayna Knipp, Seth, Loryn and Logan Hirst. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, November 24 at St. Andrew Church, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Fred Elskamp. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Tipton. The family suggests memorials to Hospice Compassus and St. Andrew Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton.
