Jeanne Marie Daily Wilson Cain, 89, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on November 16, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Jefferson City, Mo. Jeanne was born July 6, 1923, in Burlington, Iowa, the beloved only child of James Edmund and Helen Davies Daily. Growing up in Edina, Mo., she attended St. Joseph Catholic School, later moving to Kirksville where she graduated from Kirksville High School in 1941. After graduation, Jeanne obtained a secretarial degree from Northeast Missouri Teachers College (now Truman State University). She worked at Monsanto Company in St. Louis as a secretary for scientists working on the war effort during World War II. It was at a USO dance in St. Louis that she met Philip Joseph Wilson of Chicago, Ill. They were married at St. Joseph Church in Edina on August 24, 1946, and to this marriage four children were born. After her children reached school age, Jeanne returned to college earning a Bachelor of Arts and Master's degree in English at Truman State University. She taught at Ophelia Parrish Junior High School in Kirksville and in the English departments at Truman State University and The University of Missouri. Her expertise was in grammar and syntax, but she loved Shakespeare and the classics. On March 28, 1988, she married Colonel Lloyd Cain (Ret.) of Jefferson City, who survives. Jeanne was known for her sharp intellect, her Irish wit, her love of language and literature, and her devotion to family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was an accomplished pianist who loved tennis, big band music, dancing, and bridge. She is also survived by her children, Dr. Michael Wilson and wife Deborah of Jefferson City, Mo., Dr. James Wilson and wife Nancy of Macon, Mo, Dr. Philip Wilson II and wife Dr. Wanda Wilson of Jefferson City, Mo, and Dr. Margaret Wilson and husband Charles Lemley of Kirksville, Mo. In addition, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, Robert Wilson, Elizabeth Sissom, Brian Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Katie Heet, Philip Wilson III, Christine Wilson, Charles Lemley IV, Mary Kate Lemley and Benjamin Lemley; and six great-grandchildren, Cole, Caleb, Drew, Beau, Adam and Nathan. Her husband preceded her in death on April 30, 1980. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at Mary Immaculate Church, Father Chris Cordes presiding on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Park View Memorial Gardens. Grandsons Brian Wilson, Robert Wilson (honorary), Chris Wilson, Philip Wilson, Charles Lemley, Benjamin Lemley, and Joseph Heet will serve as pallbearers. Rosary was Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at 5 p.m., with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E.
