Mrs. Dorothy E. Clardy, age 75 years, of Holts Summit, Mo., died Friday, November 16, 2012, at her home. Dorothy was born October 24, 1937, in Holts Summit, Mo., the daughter of W.C. "Church" and Etta White Harris. She was married on June 9, 1957, at Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit to Richard L. Clardy. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Dorothy was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson City High School. Dorothy was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Revenue, L&L Market, and the Central United Church of Christ prior to her retirement in 2000. After retirement, she worked part-time at Price's Gift Shop in the Capital Plaza. She was a lifelong member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit and a member of the New Bloomfield Order of the Eastern Star. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson and Colorado, but most importantly, spending time with family. Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, Richard Clardy; two sons, Scott A. Clardy and his wife Julie of Ham's Prairie, Mo. and Troy D. Clardy and his wife Sarah of Holts Summit, Mo.; one sister, Sharon Seabaugh and her husband Larry of Holts Summit, Mo.; four grandchildren, Drew Clardy of Fulton, Mo., Emma Clardy of Ham's Prairie, Mo., Sam Clardy of Holts Summit, Mo., and Max Clardy of Holts Summit, Mo.; and one niece, Beth Walker and her husband Casey of Holts Summit, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be at the Union Hill Baptist Church from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 18, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Union Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Frank Whitney and the Reverend L.P. Cook officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Union Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
