Mrs. Corinne C. Barbarick, age 94 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, at Villa Marie. Corinne was born on June 26, 1918, in rural Osage County, Mo., a daughter of Overland and Annie M. Posy Clark. She was married on November 25, 1939, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Raymond E. Barbarick, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1998. She attended school in rural Osage County and completed her high school education through correspondence classes in 1965. Corinne was proud of her husband's service in the China, Burma, India Theatre during World War II. She remained and resided in the Jefferson City area during his years of service overseas. Corinne was associated in business with her husband in various business enterprises in both Jefferson City and Eldon until their retirement in 1983. Throughout those years, they owned several grocery stores including Barbarick's United Super in Eldon and were property developers that owned and operated Village Square Shopping Center in Eldon. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Eldon, Mo. where she was a member with the Fidalis Sunday School Class. In 1982 she moved to Jefferson City and became active at the First Baptist Church in Jefferson City and was a founding member of the Friendship Club. She volunteered her time with the Lioness Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, and Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary. Corinne, with Ray, enjoyed traveling coast to coast with the Wings of Shasta Camping Club and other travel clubs. Survivors include: one daughter, Sue Anne Nichols and her husband Duane of Holts Summit, Mo.; one brother, Harold Clark of Jefferson City, Mo.; one granddaughter, Evelyn Nichols McHugh and her husband Robert of Sturgeon, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Rae, Niles, Cicily, and Mary; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Ray; and five brothers, Homer Clark, Elston Clark, Mervin Clark, Clifford Clark, and Junior Clark. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 11:00 until 12:00 noon, Monday, November 19, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Monday, November 19, 2012, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend David Phelps officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Host Lions Club.
