Paul Everett McCarty

Paul Everett McCarty, age 89, of Russellville, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Oak Tree Villas in Jefferson City. He was born January 15, 1923, in Russellville a son of John Martin and Elizabeth Kubli McCarty. On December 22, 1944, near California, he was united in marriage to Vivian Shikles who survives at their home. Paul was a Navy veteran serving his country during World War II aboard the USS Nashville. He was employed with the Manley Corporation in Kansas City, traveling all over the United States installing snack bars and concession machines. He was a member of the Corticelli Baptist Church west of Russellville. In 1986, Paul and Vivian moved to a farm near Russellville where they could be near family. He enjoyed attending his Navy reunions and truly looked forward to meeting up with his fellow servicemen. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother and two sisters-in-law, Jerry and Lola McCarty of California and Lenora McCarty of Marshall; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifford and Harold McCarty and two sisters, Katherine Rohr and Anna "Rose" McCarty. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 17, at the Corticelli Baptist Church with friends received from 12:30 until service time. Dr. Rick Seaton will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Corticelli Baptist Church.
