Wilbur Francis Novak

Wilbur Francis "Bill" Novak, 89, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Jefferson City Manor. He was born on September 18, 1923, in St. Louis, the son of the late Nicholas and Grace Jane (Wistabier) Novak. He was united in marriage in 1948, in St. Louis, to Rosemary Ann Bauer who still survives. Bill faithfully served our country in the United States Air Force during World War II. Bill worked as a mechanical engineer for Century Electric in St. Louis and McMinnville, Tennessee. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Bill loved golfing, fishing, hunting, and to rebuild cars and boats. In younger years, he built and raced stock cars. Other survivors include: one sister, Janet Wujek, San Diego, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Robert (Mary Jane Nentwig) Bauer, Holts Summit; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Francene Mary Ann Novak; and one sister, Jean Ann Shone. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in McMinnville, Tennessee. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or to the Alzheimer's Association, 2400 Bluff Creek Drive, Columbia, MO 65201.
