Dorsia Rufus Gerloff, 73, of Chamois, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born August 4, 1939, in Bland, the son of the late Martin and Barbara (Crider) Gerloff. He was united in marriage on September 5, 1959, to June Reeves, and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2006. Dorsia was a graduate of Osage R-1 High School, Chamois. He was employed at Steller, Gusdorf and Wagner Electric. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Chamois and the Chamois Lions Club. He was an avid hunter and loved all sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams. He is survived by three daughters: Yvonne Foulds and friend Dan Vocks of Linn, Sherry Inman and husband Tom of Pacific, and Vonda Iven and husband Mark of Linn; one daughter-in-law: Marion Gerloff of Rosebud; four sisters: Josephine Witthaus of Iowa, Monda Whithaus and husband Orville of Chamois, twin sister, Dorothalene Mowery of Wildwood, and Sharon Pemberton and husband Joe of Wildwood; one brother: Roger Gerloff and wife Shirley of Chamois; 13 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Dorsia Dean Gerloff; one granddaughter: Molly Iven; three sisters: Erelene Traschel, Helen Murphy, and Brenda Brandt; two brothers: Raymond Gerloff and Leo Gerloff Sr.; and one son-in-law, Shannon Helmig. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Chamois. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Chamois with Rev. Larry Hendrickson officiating. Interment will follow at the Chamois City Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association.
