Rosemary Nixon

Rosemary Nixon, 97, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Bethesda Dilworth Nursing Home in St. Louis. She was born September 8, 1915, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Nelse and Elsie Elizabeth (Wagner) Addison. She attended Moreau Heights Elementary School and was a 1933 graduate of Jefferson City High School. On June 2, 1936, Rosemary was united in marriage in Jefferson City to William E. Nixon, who preceded her in death on January 12, 1992. Rosemary was a member of First Christian Church and had been an active member of the Ruth Circle there. She had been a volunteer at Memorial Community and Charles E. Still Hospitals, and also served on the Senior Citizen's Council. Rosemary was an active member of the Jefferson City Public Schools Alumni Association Class of 1933. She is survived by three children: Steven W. Nixon and wife Rama of Webster Groves, Missouri, Judith F. Burnside of Hamel, Illinois, Patricia E. Myers and husband Robert of Worthington, Ohio; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Addison and Nelse Addison Jr., and one grandchild, Michael D. Wenkle. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Donald Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or a charity of the donor's choice.
