Mrs. LaRuth Heidt Feig, age 90 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., was called home to her Savior on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Oak Tree Villa Nursing Center. LaRuth was born on January 8, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Ralph F. and Ruth Nichols Heidt. She was married on February 28, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo., to Wallace C. Feig, who preceded her in death. LaRuth spent most of her life in Jefferson City. She graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1940. She also attended numerous legal, paralegal and investigative courses as part of her employment with the State of Missouri. She was employed by the Missouri Dept. of Health and the Missouri Dept. of Social Services. LaRuth retired in 2001 after providing a total of 45 years of service to the citizens of Missouri. She dedicated her career to ensuring that citizens, especially children, received access to needed services. LaRuth was a lifelong member of the Central United Church of Christ, having been confirmed at the age of 12. She was a member of The Health Retirement Fellowship, the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and the Jefferson City Chapter of the Retired State Employees. Her hobbies include crafts, photography, maintaining family albums for her grandchildren and watching Lawrence Welk television shows. Survivors include: her daughter, Anne Cassady and her husband Joe of Jefferson City, Mo.; two granddaughters, Julie Boehm Kempker and her husband Gary of Jefferson City, Mo. and Leah Boehm Peebles and her husband Mike of Springfield, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Rollins, Alexandra Peebles, and Cole Peebles. She was preceded in death by her parents and a twin sister. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012, in the Freeman Chapel. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of their choice.
