Margaret E O'Dowd

"Aunt" Margaret E. O'Dowd, age 88, of Linn, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Autumn Skilled Nursing Facility. Margaret was born May 28, 1924, in Gasconade County, a daughter to the late Parker and Stella Mae (Branson) Patterson. Margaret attended the Vosholl School. On June 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Adriel "Pat" O'Dowd in Linn. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1983. Margaret worked for McGraw-Edison for 10 years. For two of those years, she served as a shop smith. Margaret was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and going to the casinos. She enjoyed spending time with her great nieces and nephews. Margaret was always one to take care of everyone. Survivors include: one brother, Bill Patterson of Linn; a sister-in-law, Shirley Patterson of Jefferson City as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and spouse, Margaret was preceded in death by: one son, Ricky Stephen O'Dowd in 1970, and four sisters, Dorothy Ferguson, Thelma Matthews, Wilma Mae Hays, and Rosemary O'Dowd. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Interment will follow in the Linn Memorial Park Cemetery.
