Lynn Eugene Shackelford Jr.

Lynn Eugene "Gene" Shackelford Jr., 93, of Tebbetts, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, in Yukon, Okla. He was born May 17, 1919, to Lynn Eugene and Elisabeth Clemens (Pinet) Shackelford. Gene loved to hunt and fish, ride his bike, listen and dance to swing music, bowl, and follow the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City, until retiring in Naples, Fla., in 1983. He was a member and a deacon of the First Congregational Community Church in North Naples, Fla. Gene is survived by his son, Scott A. Shackelford of Yukon, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Debbie Shackelford of Yukon, Okla.; daughter, Lynda G. Fain of Jefferson, Mo.; a sister, Evelyn Baker of Bella Vista, Ark.; his grandchildren, Blair Fain along with her fiancé, Nick Purcell, Baxter Fain along with his wife Amy and their children, Connor, Cailin and Collyn. Other grandchildren include Brandon Shackelford and his wife Cheryl, Taylor Shackelford and long-time companion, Nancy Carpenter He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia M. Shackelford; son, William H. Shackelford; and sister, Ruth Bredeman. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be signed at www.yandafuneral.com.
