David Woodside

Mr. David E. Woodside, age 54 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, May 14, 2012. David was born on November 10, 1957, in St. Louis, Mo., a son of Dennis K. and Virginia L. Umberger Woodside. He was married on March 30, 1985 in St. Louis, Mo., to Mary Janet McIntosh. David graduated from University City High School in St. Louis, Mo., and did his undergraduate studies at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. During his time at William Jewell, David did a year of study at Regions Park College at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. He later received his law degree from St. Louis University. A resident of the Jefferson City area since 1986, David was currently employed as an attorney with the Missouri Department of Transportation for over 26 years. He was a member at Memorial Baptist Church and was active in the church serving as a deacon, a member of the Corporate Board, a Sunday school teacher, and worked tirelessly to revise the church's bylaws. David was also a member of the Missouri Bar Association since 1982 and was sworn into practice at the U.S. Supreme Court. Survivors include: his wife of 27 years, Janet Woodside; his daughter, Amy Lea Woodside of Jefferson City, Mo.; his mother, Virginia Woodside of St. Charles, Mo.; one sister, Denise Murray and her husband Michael of Valparaiso, Ind.; one brother, Jeff Woodside and his wife Diana of O'Fallon, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Betty Ramos and her husband Joseph of Frankfort, Ind.; one brother-in-law, John McIntosh and his fiancÈe Amber Klepko of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Woodside, and one brother, Steve Woodside. Visitation will be at Memorial Baptist Church from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Mark Towns officiating.
