Aulma Alberts

Mrs. Aulma I. Alberts, age 86 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at her home. Aulma was born July 24, 1925, in Cole County, Mo., the daughter of James Hugo and Anna May Binkley Dawson. She was married on February 7, 1946, in Benicia, Calif., to George L. "Les" Alberts, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2004. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Aulma graduated from Eugene High School, Eugene, Mo. She was employed as an accountant with the Missouri Division of Tourism for 23 years prior to her retirement in October, 1990. Aulma was a member of the Capital City Christian Church for more than 40 years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Victoria Chapter No. 14. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was affectionally known as Boo Boo by family and friends. One of her hobbies was collecting angels. She was always the life of the party and added a sparkle when she entered the room. Survivors include: one daughter, Nicki Jungmeyer and her husband Steve of Jefferson City, Mo.; one son, Rod Alberts and his wife Tammy of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; one daughter-in-law, Sarah Alberts of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Norma Rosenow of Alma, Kan.; one brother, James Dawson of Eugene, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Melissa Lackey and her husband Will of St. Louis, Mo., Leslie Kohl and her husband Kevin of St. Louis, Mo., Julie Townsend and her husband Ken of Columbia, Mo., James "Jay" Alberts II and his wife Alexis of Milford, Conn., Lauren Blasek and her husband Bill of Peoria, Ill., Blake Jungmeyer and his wife Corinne of Wheaton, Ill., Annie Alberts of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Ellie Alberts of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Mallory Davis and her husband Tyler of Little Rock, Ark., Jenna Nutt of Fayetteville, Ark., and Austin Nutt of Little Rock, Ark.; eight great-grandchildren, Olivia Lackey, Emma Lackey, Dawson Lackey, Nora Lackey, Ryanne Blasek, Liam Blasek, Kenny Townsend, and Sophie Jungmeyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, J.C. Alberts; one daughter, Mary Jane Lou Ann Alberts; and one granddaughter, Stacy Jungmeyer. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2012, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Don Fankhauser officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
