Ruby Fay Tucker, 70, of Eldon, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at University Hospital in Columbia. She was born in Eldon on December 25, 1941, the daughter of the late Aubra Lee and Tressie Elizabeth (Witt) Vernon. On May 16, 1957, she was married in Boone County, Arkansas, to Gary Max Tucker, who survives at the home. She was a member of Family Fitness Gym. Ruby loved to swim, mushroom hunt, fish, and garage sale. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, singing karaoke, writing poems, photography, and playing the Wii. She was also an accomplished bowler. Her surviving children and their spouses are Mark and Carol Tucker of Nixa, Kathy and Russell Nolan of Benton City, Aaron and Cyndee Tucker of Brighton, Illinois, and Clifford and Dana Tucker of Warrenton. Other surviving family members are her brother, David Vernon of Eldon, and her sisters, Martha Bashore of Eldon and Nina Rose Williamson of Richland, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren (plus one on the way); and many loving nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by five sisters, Donna Hill, Anna Mae Deffenbaugh, Natholee Wood, Betty Nicholls, and Judy Marie Vernon; and two brothers, Jack Vernon and Ted Vernon. Her body has been cremated. All family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 at the Twirlers Club building behind the ballpark at the Eldon Fairgrounds. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ruby's name are suggested to the Eldon Food Pantry.
