Edwin Tellman

Edwin Earl Tellman, age 68, of Eugene, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at home. He was born November 23, 1943, in Kansas City. On December 12, 1943, he was adopted by Edwin A. and Nellie (Feltrop) Tellman. Eddie graduated from Eugene High School in 1961 and Pueblo Business College in Pueblo, Colo. in 1962. After a short stint working for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, his love of the land called him back to the family farm. He spent the rest of his life in the agricultural field as a dairyman, crop farmer, cattleman and feed salesman. At one time he had the largest hog finishing confinement facility in the state of Missouri. Eddie loved to hunt, fish and collect antique tractors. He loved all colors of tractors, but he held a special fondness for the "other green" tractor. Eddie had an extensive knowledge of Oliver tractors and many times he was recruited to help find parts for Olivers. He was an active member and former officer of the Osage River Antique Power Association in Eldon. On February 14, 1990, Eddie married the love of his life, Colette Schanzmeyer, who survives at the home. Additional survivors include a son and two daughters, Darrin (Lisa) Tellman, Tuscumbia, Kim (Rob) Bax, Mary's Home and Jennifer Tellman, Eugene; three step-daughters, Erin (Mike) Kliethermes, Loose Creek, Vanessa (Eric) Stuckenschneider, Jefferson City and Amanda Peters (fiancÈ, Gabe Keilholz), Holts Summit; 11 grandchildren: Emma, Adam, Elly, Alton and baby Tellman due in April, Steven, Sierra and Ava Bax and Jade and Marena Tellman; one step-grandson, Colin Stuecken; one brother, Dan (Patty) Tellman, Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister, Linda Veit, Osage Bend; and a foster brother, Vince Evans, Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother-in-law, Robert Veit. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eldon, Mo., with Msgr. Donald W. Lammers officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery in Mary's Home, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, 600 Monroe St. Suite 100, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
