Albert W. Reed Sr., 94, of California, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at California Care Center. He was born on March 15, 1917, in California, the son of William Andrew and Emma Agnes (Duncan) Reed, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on March 13, 1938, in California to Opal Maxine Bolinger, who preceded him in death on September 17, 2010. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher and always enjoyed visiting the sick. He was previously a member of Flag Springs Baptist Church. He was president of the Old Salem Cemetery Board. Albert was a life-long farmer, and he also worked at the California Woolen Mill, California Manufacturing for many years, and for the Moniteau County Road District. He is survived by three sons, Albert Reed Jr. and wife Beverly, Charles Keith Reed and wife Malinda, all of California, and Ronnie Reed of Clarksburg; five daughters, Ruby C. Parkes and husband Don of California, Emma M. Kirchhoff of Tovey, Ill., Patty A. Elliott of California, Bonnie Stinson and husband David of Clarksburg, and Donna Sue Kleoppel and husband Tom of Warrensburg; 25 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, John David Reed; and two daughters, Doris Jean Johnson and infant Janet Marie Reed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Main Street Baptist Church in California. Burial will be in Flag Springs Cemetery. Officiating will be Mr. Jack Bowlin and Rev. Eddie Schoeneberg. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. Ã± 1:00 p.m. at Main Street Baptist Church.
