Norma L. Hudspeth

Mrs. Norma L. Hudspeth, age 87 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Golden Living Center. Norma was born on April 10, 1924, in Columbia, Mo., a daughter of Guy and Blanche Austeel Hartley. She was married on May 19, 1943, in Boonville, Mo., to Perry J. Hudspeth. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Norma attended Jefferson City Public Schools. She was employed with McGraw Edison for 10 years and later with Von Hoffmann Press until her retirement in 1982. Norma always loved shopping and spending time with her family. Survivors include: her husband of 68 years, Perry Hudspeth; two sons, Dwight Hudspeth of Mexico, Mo. and Richard Hudspeth of Washington D.C.; three daughters, Nancy Massie and her husband Don of Jefferson City, Carol Drinkard and her husband Donnie of Jefferson City, and Betty Buford and her husband Gary of Jefferson City; one sister, Margaret Wehry of Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Mark Hudspeth; two brothers, Karney Hartley and Muriel Hartley; two sisters, Joann Phelan and Florence "Vic" Martin; and one granddaughter, Angela Selby. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 until 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012. A Celebration of Norma's Life will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in the Freeman Chapel. Private graveside services and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer 's Disease and Related Disorders Association.
