Tex D. Thompson
Tex D. Thompson, age 66, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at his residence. Tex was born June 22, 1945, in Lovett, Texas, a son to the late William Bill and Bessie (Pankey) Thompson. Tex worked most of his life as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed electric trains, hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his friends. Survivors include: one daughter, Darla and her husband Richard Kempker of Centertown; one step-son, Roger and his wife Bonnie Robinett of Centertown; three brothers, Richard and his wife Teresa Hays of California, Bob and his wife Karen Jones and Louis and his wife Sandra Jones, both of Jefferson City; one sister, Genevieve Rowland of California; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, Joseph Thompson; one step-son, Randy Robinett; one brother, James Thompson; and two sisters, Judy and Shirley. A Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Morton Chapel in Linn with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date at Geidenhagen Cemetery.
