Betty Jo Bissell, 82, of Jefferson City, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at her home. She was born the daughter of Delmar and Kathryn Saxton on March 26, 1929 in Kansas City. Betty graduated from the Memphis (MO) High School in 1947. She married Donald E. Robbins on June 22, 1949. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1982. They had four children: David, Donita, Sherry and Scott. The Robbins lived and farmed east of Memphis until Donald's death. Betty moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area in 1984. She later moved to Jefferson City. Betty worked for many years in retail clothing and had a flare for fashion. After her retirement, she enjoyed gardening and decorating her home. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Donita Kay Robbins; and son, Scott E. Robbins. She is survived by her son, David and wife Elane Robbins of Marshall; Sherry King Kupferle and husband William of Jefferson City; daughter-in-law, Millie Robbins of Russellville; grandchildren, Sam Alexander of Jefferson City, Valerie and husband Michael Jett of Murrieta, Calif., Brennen Robbins of Tucson, Ariz., Michele and husband Brandon Hardin of Marshall, and Donnie Robbins of Russellville; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Saxton of Kahoka,. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the Memphis United Methodist Church with Pastor David Howlett officiating. Sam Alexander, Brandon Hardin, Donnie Robbins, Jed Hinds, Stanley Prather, and Dennis Baker are pallbearers. Burial will be in the Conyers Cemetery in Scotland County. Visitation is at the church, prior to the service on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until noon. Memorials are suggested to the Conyers Cemetery and can be left at or mailed to the Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S.
