O. Paul Mueller, 86, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at St. Joseph's Bluffs. He was born May 17, 1925, in Stover, Missouri, a son of Alfred Peter and Lillie Marie (Schroeder) Mueller. Paul was a 1943 graduate of Stover High School and attended Washington University in St. Louis. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific theater during World War II from 1943-1946. On June 26, 1948, Paul was united in marriage in St. Louis to Elaine V. Meyer, who survives at their home. He worked for the State of Missouri, Division of Employment Security, from 1961 until his retirement in 1987, as a program supervisor. Paul was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he had served on the Board of Elders, and was a member of AARP and the Association of Retired State Employees. An avid stamp collector, Paul was a member of the American Philatelic Society and several other stamp collecting organizations. He enjoyed wood working and furniture caning. He is survived by 11 children: Stephen Mueller (Pat) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Donald Mueller (Amy) of Centertown, Missouri, Jerelyn Krenz of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Philip Mueller (Roxanne) of Racine, Wisconsin, Janet Waltz (Stephen) of Yuba City, California, Kaye Hewitt (David) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Karen Lueckenhoff (Ron) of Jefferson City, John Mueller (Jeanne) of Jefferson City, Missouri, Tim Mueller (Penny) of Hartsburg, Missouri, Cindy Westhoff (Jim) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Kevin Mueller (Jean) of Kansas City, Missouri; 27 grandchildren: Jeffrey Mueller, Clifton Mueller, Andy Mueller, Meghan Rodriguez, Emily Valdez, Darick Maasen, Cameron Maasen, Tara Andrews, Christopher Krenz, Laura Fornal, Nathanial Krenz, Jennifer Rickert, Michael Mueller, Julie Savill, Ericka Saucier, Nathan Saucier, Shaun Lueckenhoff, Melissa Lueckenhoff, Eric Lueckenhoff, Stephanie Pantaleo, Amber Mueller, Sam Mueller, Max Mueller, Ryan Westhoff, Brittany Moses, Madeleine Mueller, Caroline Mueller; and 26 great-grandchildren: Ruby Mueller, Leighton Rodriguez, Sidney Rodriguez, Sophia Valdez, Danny Valdez, Tony Valdez, Nolan Maasen, Mason Andrews, Asher Krenz, Acacia Krenz, Micah Krenz, Eliora Krenz, Nicholas Fornal, Aleczander Krenz, Rachel Richert, Kyle Richert, Braden Mueller, Abigail Savill, Benjamin Savill, Jade Saucier, Olivia Lueckenhoff, Austin Lueckenhoff, Isaiah Lueckenhoff, Gage Conner, Conner Moses and Preston Moses. He was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Keith, in 1963; two brothers, Lawrence Mueller and Harold Mueller; and three grandchildren: Jennifer Eve, Amy and Vincent. Friends will be received from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Tony Alter and Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
