Betty Kellar

Betty Kellar, 82 of Lee's Summit Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at the St. Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She was born July 17, 1929, in St. Louis Missouri, the daughter of the late Harry and Viola (Locke) Bagby. On February 25, 1950, she was united in marriage in St. Louis to Kenneth Kellar. Betty was a stay-at-home mom for her five children and later in life worked for the Missouri National Guard. Betty and Ken were faithful members of two Baptist congregations in Jefferson City, Memorial Baptist and First Baptist. They lived for many years on Zion Road, south of Jefferson City. She is survived by her husband: Kenneth Kellar, currently of Lee's Summit; four children: Steve Kellar, wife Debra, of Chicago, Scott Kellar, wife Christy, of Chicago, Susan Wright, husband Tom, of Lee's Summit; Dan Kellar, wife Chris, of Columbia; 11 grandchildren: Sarah, Danielle, Ruth, Kaleb, Shelby, Connor, Cassidy, Mary, Sofie, Claire, and Caelen. She was preceded in death by one son: David Kellar, survived by wife and beloved daughter-in-law, Chieko Kellar. Visitation will be held at Parker Funeral Service on Friday, March 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside service will be held at Columbia Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 3.
