Billy Allen Freegard

Billy Allen Freegard, age 63, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Lebanon on May 5, 1949, son of the late Edgar Allen and Bonnie Venetta (Wall) Freegard. On November 10, 1973, in Iberia, Billy married Cynthia Eilene Fitzpatrick, who survives at the home. Billy was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army. After serving his country with an honorable discharge he worked at Village Shell for 25 years at the junction of Highway 17 and 42 in Iberia. He was recently employed at Rambo Marine Service in Osage Beach. He was active in tractor and truck pulling since 1972 and was a member of the MMTTPA. He is also survived by two sons, Trent Allen Freegard and Monica Murray of Osage Beach and Michael Joseph Mace and wife Pam of Burlington, Iowa; two daughters, Summer Freegard-Humphreys of Tuscumbia and Ashley Freegard-Phillips and husband Josh of Tebbetts; three grandchildren, Ian Mace, Mackenzie Humphreys, and Gavin Freegard; one sister, Donna Gladden and husband John of Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Greg McClain will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the American Legion Post 105 and Iberia VFW Post 6167 will be in Iberia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
