Thomas "Tom" A. Horne, 58, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born December 27, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Ronald Horne and Laverne (Ladenthin) Horne. Tom graduated from high school in St. Louis, and went on to graduate from Linn Technical College in Linn. On August 19, 2000, Tom was united in marriage to Linda (Kirschenmann) Graham, who survives at their home. Tom was the owner of Typewrite Office Equipment in Jefferson City. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Salvation Army. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and coin collecting. He was an avid motorcycle rider and loved animals. What he enjoyed most of all, was spending time with his grandchildren. Along with his wife Linda, Tom is also survived by three sons: Joe Horne (wife Becky), J.T. Horne, Josh Schmidt (wife Kim), all of Jefferson City; two daughters: Janet Vaughn-Horne of Fulton and Jessi Graham of Jefferson City; 11 grandchildren; one brother: Mike Horne (wife Dorothy) of Indianapolis, Indiana; and one sister: Nadine Boss (husband John) of the state of Virginia. He had a prior marriage to Linda Kelley, who also survives. He was preceded in death by his father: Ronald Horne; and his mother and step-father: Lavern and Joe Wilshe. A Celebration of Life will be held in memory of Tom at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Binder Park in Jefferson City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Grandchildren's Educational Fund.
