Kelly Elizabeth Nash, 53, of Holts Summit, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center, in Jefferson City. She was born April 30, 1959, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Pete and Beverly (McFarland) Martinez. She was united in marriage on June 26, 1976, to Rawn Nash, who resides at their home. She was a graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia. She received her nursing degree from Lincoln University and graduated from the University of North Dakota as a Physician's Assistant. She was currently employed with Capital Emergency Physicians at St. Mary's Health Center. She was previously employed with Christy Court Cancer Care, Columbia Surgical Associates, Mid-Missouri Emergency Physicians at Boone Hospital in Columbia, and University Hospital in Columbia. An important part of her Physicians Assistant career was working at the Community Wellness Clinic in Versailles. She was a member of the Missouri Academy of Physicians Assistants. Kelly enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, canoeing, boat trips, cooking and baking. She was an advocate for the underprivileged. Kelly was a dedicated and compassionate caregiver; she was always thinking of others. She would buy a special toy for a sick child or get up in the middle of the night to care for an ill elderly patient. She was especially fond of the Mennonite community that she had a special working relationship with. She is survived by two daughters: Jeri Nash and her husband Albert Salazar of Jefferson City and Alexa Nash of Holts Summit; two sons: Peter Nash of Holts Summit, and Brian Nash (Nicole Benne) of Jefferson City; five brothers: Charles, James, Mitchell, and Paul Martinez of the state of California, and Don Martinez of Jefferson City; five sisters: Kimberly Martinez, Petra Martinez, Patricia Smith, Cynthia Conston, and Linda Bowker; two granddaughters: Mackenzie and Camryn. She was preceded in death by her father. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held for the family at Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
