Ronald Paul "Ronnie" Mehmert, 59, of Jefferson City, went peacefully to God in the comforting arms of his wife Dee Dee and son Donnie at their home, along with the rest of his family on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, after a 6 Ω year battle with cancer. He was born on July 27, 1952, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Joseph Herman and Elizabeth Catherine Mortemeyer Mehmert. Ronnie was a member of the first graduating class of Blair Oaks High School in 1970 and attended Lincoln University. He was united in marriage on September 5, 1981, in Jefferson City, to Mary Melodye "Dee Dee" Wildhaber who survives at the home. Ronnie served with the United States Army Reserves in the 1970's. He adored his grandsons and loved his daughter-in-law, Ami, as his own daughter. Ronnie enjoyed the giggles and even the cries of any baby or child. Ronnie enjoyed playing golf with his brothers and friends, barbequing, cooking, recipe books, and always testing something new to cook. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed a cold beer. Ronnie enjoyed spending time with his wife, camping, small road trips, reading, talking, hiking, judging barbecue contests, riding bikes on the Katy Trail, and spending time at the cabin on the Gasconade River.
