Margaret C. Lieneke, age 96, of Linn, and formerly of Chamois, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City with her family by her side. Margaret was born July 5, 1916, in Hermann, a daughter to the late William and Anna (Vasen) Busse. Margaret attended schools in Hermann and Chamois. On September 29, 1937, she was united in marriage to Grover Lieneke in Chamois. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1982. Margaret was a lifelong area resident and worked in various shoe and clothing factories in the area. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois and was a volunteer for O.A.T.S. and the Chamois Senior Center. Margaret enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, playing cards, watching games shows on TV, playing the guitar, piano and organ, and she was a very creative person. Margaret is survived by: One son, Robert Lieneke and his wife Joleen of Jefferson City; one daughter, Catherine Hoffman and her husband Charles of Linn; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by one brother, Wilber J. Busse. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. David Means as the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Most Pure Heart of Mary Parish Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Chapel, Linn, Mo. (573-897-2214) www.mortonchapel.com
