Anna Mae Engelbrecht

Anna Mae Engelbrecht, 77, of Bay, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Washington. Anna was born in Bay on July 18, 1935, the only child of the late Frank and Lydia (Kraftzeck) Bierwirth. On October 3, 1953, in Columbia she was united in marriage to Byron Engelbrecht. A lifelong resident of Missouri, Anna Mae graduated from Hermann High School in Hermann. She was briefly employed at a hat factory but was more importantly a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening. She was a member of Zion-St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bay. Her survivors include two daughters, Susan Schneider and husband Tom of Jefferson City and Barbara Lee and husband Jerry of Columbia; a son, Michael Engelbrecht of Owensville; daughter-in-law, Loretta Engelbrecht of Auxvasse; 10 grandchildren, Jason, Travis, Todd and Tyler Schneider, John and Jill Engelbrecht, Kaithlyn and Zachary Lee, Lane and Gracie Engelbrecht; and two great-grandsons, Evan and Jace Schneider. She was preceded in death by two sons, Brent and Brian Engelbrecht. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion-St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bay with Pastor Darrel Deeker officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Bay. Visitation for the public will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville. Arrangements under the direction of Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
