Louise Genevieve Cooper, 88, of Jefferson City, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at her residence. She was born on March 28, 1924, in Hannibal, Mo., the daughter of the late T.E. and Lillian Martha (Gatson) Bailey. Louise was a 1942 graduate of Kirksville High School. She was united in marriage on July 26, 1945, in Quincy, Ill., to Howard Paul Cooper, who preceded her in death on July 1, 1991. A homemaker, Louise also worked for L.T York Pharmaceutical Company in Brookfield, Mo. for 15 years. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Ladies Sodality, past President of the X Club, American Contract Bridge League, and was a volunteer for the St. Joseph School Hot Lunch Program. Survivors include: five children, James (Kathel) Cooper, Jefferson City; Barbara Falotico, Jefferson City; Bruce Cooper, Jefferson City; Jane (Michael) Ledbetter, New Bloomfield; Mary (Terence) Walsh, Jefferson City; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deborah Kay Cooper; and a brother, Thomas Bailey. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2012, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Dylan Schrader officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, 2303 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
