William Joseph Goeke

William Joseph (Bill) Goeke, age 63, of Los Gatos, Calif., passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Bill was born in Kirksville, Mo., on July 26, 1948, to Joe and Jenalee (Arnold) Goeke. He graduated from Athens High School, Athens, Ohio, in 1966 and was a 1971 graduate of the University of Missouri with a major in mathematics. Bill worked in computer programming, analysis, and software design for over 40 years. His career in computer work began in 1971 as a programmer for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. In 1979, Bill and his family relocated to California where he continued his work in the computer industry. All who knew Bill remember his passion for the St. Louis Cardinals. A more ardent fan cannot be found. He will be sorely missed. Survivors include: his wife, Shelley; son, Eric of Santa Cruz, Calif.; daughters, Jenna and Andrea of the home; brother, Bryan (Karen) Goeke of Jefferson City and his sister Patricia (Jerre) Goeke Gallinger of Kearney, Mo. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jenalee Goeke; his maternal grandparents, Bryan and Mabel (Kelly) Arnold; and his paternal grandparents, Henry and Mary (Cooper) Goeke. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, at 4 p.m., at the Holy Spirit Church, San Jose, Calif.
