Michael Robert Wingate

Michael "Mike" Robert Wingate, 61, of California, Mo., passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital, Columbia, Mo. He was born on January 15, 1951, in California, Mo., the son of Willard Cleo and Hanorah Josephine "Jo" (Leonard) Wingate, both of whom preceded him in death. Mike was a 1969 graduate of California High School. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mike liked helping his son Jeff with sprint cars, pulling trucks and loved playing cards. He is survived by two sons, Jeff Wingate, Centertown; and Wesley Wingate, Columbia; one daughter, Amy Trube, Lee's Summit; three brothers, Lanny Wingate, Centertown; Larry Wingate and wife Bettie, Jefferson City; and Jerry Wingate, Jefferson City; one sister, Rosemary Bardwell and husband Mark, California; four grandchildren, Maxwell Wingate, Gage Trube, Keagan Trube and Elias Trube. In addition to his parents he is preceded by one brother, Leon Wingate on November 27, 1986. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. Burial will be in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Ed Schmidt. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
