Everett Wayne Ferguson, 64, of California, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City. He was born on December 7, 1947, in California, the son of Bobby Franklin Ferguson, who preceded him in death and Helen Irene (Baker) Wallenmeyer, who survives. He was married on August 14, 1971, at Main Street Baptist Church in California, to Debbie Gabert, who survives of the home. He was a 1965 graduate of California High School, and proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967-1969. He worked as a printer for the State of Missouri for 30 years, and was a part-time driver for Bonnie Plants. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. From early on, he loved to play the drums and was a member of various bands. He also loved golf, bowling, and travelling. He was a member of California Jaycees and California Country Club. His pride and joy was his grandkids, and he loved being around them. He is survived by two sons, Mike Ferguson (Lynn), and Mitch Ferguson (Joanie), all of California; four grandchildren, Dustin, Garret, Madalyn and Dylan Ferguson; one stepbrother, Bill Wallenmeyer of Pennsylvania; two stepsisters, Roberta Rothstein of California, and Debbie Gonzales of Kansas; and stepmother, Donna Ferguson of California. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Alpha and Delmar Ferguson; and maternal grandparents, Raymond and Ethel "Granny" Baker. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Burial will be in California City Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Roy Barnard. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to either the American Cancer Society or American Red Cross Blood Services, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018.
