Robert G. "Bob" James, age 72, of Joplin, Mo. passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Landmark Hospital in Joplin. Bob was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Mokane, Mo. He was raised in Jefferson City and graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1958. Bob retired from Dorco Building Supply in Yuma, Ariz. in 2004, as Office Mgr., following a lifelong career in the lumber and building supply business. Bob attended the First United Methodist Church in Joplin. He was a member of the Joplin Eagle's Lodge, and was a member of the Yuma Harley Owner's Group in Yuma, Ariz. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting with his family and friends, playing a little golf, and riding his Harley-Davidson trike. Survivors include two sons, Brian James and wife Katie, German Town Hills, Illinois, and Bob James and wife Amanda, Salado, Texas; three daughters, Carrie James, Russellville, Mo., Donna James, Eugene, Mo., and Sarah James, Holts Summit, Mo.; his loving companion of 16 years, Bonnie Peterson and her children; Mark Santini, Calvin Santini, and Myra Barolet; one sister, Betty Ponder, Jefferson City, Mo. and 12 grandchildren: Brad, Caroline, Christian, Jackson, Bobbi, Gabe, Kevin, Gaven, Maranda, Nicolas, E.J., and Rae. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erin. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City, Mo. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
