Michael A. Bruemmer
Michael A. Bruemmer, 62, of Moberly, died Sunday, July 1, 2012. Michael was born December 19, 1949, in Jefferson City, to Clarence and Mildred (Rackers) Bruemmer. Michael received his civil engineering degree from the University of Missouri - Rolla in 1972. He retired in 2005 as the District Engineer for the Missouri Department of Transportation at the Macon Missouri District #2 Office. He had been with MoDOT for 32 years. He was instrumental in accomplishing several area transportation improvements, which included four-laning of Route 63 from Kirksville to the Boone County Line. Michael was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and loved all animals, especially his dogs. He was Past-President of the former Moberly Country Club, and a former member of the Macon Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife, Debbi, of Moberly. He was the proud father of his daughters, Mandy Bruemmer of Atlanta, Ga., and Gretchen Hanna and husband Hank of Albuquerque, N.M., and their mother Ann Kyzar; step-son and friend, Trevor Jacoby and granddaughter Sophia Jacoby, both of O'Fallon; his father, Clarence Bruemmer and wife Lorraine and her sons, Robert Eveler and Kevin Eveler, all of Jefferson City; sisters, Barbara Kay Bruemmer of Jefferson City, Sue Ann Sullivan and husband Ted of Kansas City, Roberta Licklider and husband Dennis of Holts Summit, Mary Beth Hoey and husband Mike, and Janel Luck and husband Bob, all of Jefferson City; mother-in-law, Sarah Andrews, sister-in-law, Gena Fuller, and a brother-in-law, Rick Andrews, all of Moberly; aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred; his nephew, Ben Sullivan; and his step-brother, Douglas Eveler. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Association for Frontotemporal Dementia or the St. Pius X Catholic Church Building Fund would be appreciated. Christian Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cater Funeral Home.
