Eleanore Catherine Rodeman, 92, of Wardsville, joined her husband in eternal life on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family and loving caregivers. She was born on May 11, 1919, in St. Thomas, a daughter of the late Herman Joseph and Anna Marie Borgmeyer Buschjost. She was united in marriage on May 4, 1942, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson City, to Herbert Louis Rodeman, who preceded her in death on April 22, 2011. Eleanore was employed in St. Louis in her years before marriage. She was employed in the state of California when her husband returned from his military tour. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Sodality of Our Lady and the St. Jude's Assembly Auxiliary #1567. She practiced her faith in God through prayer and the care of her family. She was devoted to her husband for nearly 70 years of marriage. Each member of her family was very special to her. She enjoyed the daily tasks as a homemaker, especially by baking, cooking, sewing, canning and in the beautiful vegetable and flowers gardens that she maintained alongside her husband. She really made her house into a home. She was noted for her wonderful homemade angel food cakes, just as her mother had been. Eleanore's heart was broken the day her husband entered eternal life and she struggled to live her life in recent months without him. She is survived by her three children: Ruth Ann Braun and her husband Roger of Jefferson City, Ron Rodeman and his wife Bev of Jefferson City, and Phyllis LeCuru and her husband Alan of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren: Michele (Chris) Burrows, Russell Braun, Melissa Hart, Melanie Braun, Meghan (Michael) Welty, Nathan Rodeman, Kim LeCuru and Ashley LeCuru; five great-grandchildren: Brittany Hart, Hollie Burrows, Reaghan Cook, Joshua Burrows, and Riglee Welty; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Buschjost and Rosemary Buschjost, both of St. Thomas and one sister-in-law: Lucy Buschjost. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers: Ernest, Jerome and Herbert Buschjost. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service to be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Father Greg Meystrik, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Masses, the St. Stanislaus Foundation or Hospice Compassus. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St., (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left for the family online at millardfamilychapels.com
