Margie Lenoir Gerdenics, 84, of Jefferson City, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at St. Joseph Bluffs in Jefferson City. She was born October 11, 1927, in rural Calwood, a daughter of Richard and Bertha Myers Hickman. On December 30, 1951, Lenoir was united in marriage in Lordsburg, New Mexico, to Joseph J. Gerdenics Jr., who preceded her in death on September 7, 2007. Lenoir worked for Hughes Aircraft Company for many years until she was forced into early retirement due to rheumatoid arthritis. She enjoyed playing golf when she could and entertaining in her home in Tucson and their retirement home in Lakeside, Arizona. Lenoir is now with God after recently being baptized by Chaplain Jim Mueller at St. Joseph Bluffs. She is survived by two daughters: Brenda Hickman of Mexico, and Glenda Ruffner and husband Dennis of Russellville; one granddaughter, Kitrina Hoelscher of Jefferson City and her children, Tyler Renkemeyer and wife Hope and Jordan Renkemeyer, all of Jefferson City; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hickman of Fulton, and Marcile Hickman of Calwood; brother-in-law, Roger Gerdenics and wife Mary of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Glen, James R., Clyde and Roy; and one sister, Millie. Lenoir was grateful to her brother Clyde and his wife Marcile for raising her two daughters. Her family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Goldschmidt Cancer Center, Hospice Compassus and St. Joseph Bluffs for the care and compassion extended to Lenoir throughout her illness. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012, at the St. Joseph Bluffs chapel with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating. Following the service, everyone is invited to stay for a time of fellowship with the family.
