Mark Helias Forck, 81, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2012, in Kansas City. He was born October 28, 1930, in Jefferson City to Gerald Frank and Rose Mary (Castrop) Forck. He was married on February 7, 1959, to Doris Jo Schoenen, who preceded him in death. He attended school at Immaculate Conception, St. Peter's High School, JC Junior College and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1959, with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He continued post graduate studies in Math and Electronics at Texas Western College and Western Electric Corporate Graduate School in New Jersey. He was a Korean Veteran, serving in the United States Navy. He was active and reserve duty for almost nine years. He was employed by Western Electric Co. Missiles Defense Division at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, before transferring to their plant in Lee's Summit, Mo., and retiring from Lucent Technology in 1988. Mark liked most sports and played in most of them. He also enjoyed most music from country to classical. He traveled around the world and cruised the seas from Greenland Sea in the North Atlantic to the Tazman Sea in the South Pacific. He was a member of St. John Francis Regis Church and a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 5789 and Knights of Columbus, Council 4387. Survivors include a son, Gregory V. Forck, O'Fallon, Mo.; a daughter, Corine T. Standard, Houston, Texas; four sisters, Mary Anne Kolb and Sr. Bernadette, Jefferson, Mo.; St. Mary Rose and Sr. Rose Mary, San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Jerome J. Forck, Jefferson City; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Luke. Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., following the visitation. Prayer service and entombment will be Tuesday, January 17, 11:00 a.m., at Resurrection Cemetery, Jefferson City.
