Raymond "Ray" John Kempker, 49, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born August 10, 1962, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, a son of Harold and Marie (Brune) Kempker. He was a 1980 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia. Ray worked at ABB for 25 years and with Quaker Window Products for six years. He has lived in Jefferson City since 2002, and previously lived in Folk. Ray was a former member of Freedom of Road Riders, and enjoyed spending time with his family, watching football and baseball, fishing, mushroom hunting, hunting, and riding motorcycles. Ray is survived by his parents: Harold and Marie Kempker of Jefferson City; nine siblings: Betty Lilley (husband Joe) of Rocky Mount, Susan Schnieders (husband Norman) of Jefferson City, Alice Kirsch (husband Randy) of Bonnots Mill, Shirley Walters (husband Terry) of Rocky Mount, Joe Kempker (wife Sharon) of Holts Summit, Bob Kempker of Westphalia, Bill Kempker (wife Terri) of Jefferson City, Patti Kempker of Jefferson City, and Francis Kempker of Jefferson City; 18 nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three infant brothers; and grandparents: August and Betty Brune, and John and Mary Kempker. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, with Fr. Nicholas J. Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to The Ray Kempker Memorial Fund. Proceeds from the fund will benefit Beka's Bandits, which is a family and friends organization that assists Ray's niece and others affected by Multiple Sclerosis.
