Allen Schulte

Allen Andrew Schulte, 56, of Mary's Home, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 4, 1955, in Jefferson City, son of the late Andrew and Bernadine (Backes) Schulte. Allen attended Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School and Cole R-V (Eugene) High School. He was married on October 8, 1977, to his best friend, Karen D. (Koetting) Schulte, who survives at the home. He was a lifelong farmer. He retired from the Missouri Dept. of Social Services after 31 years. He worked for St. Mary's Hospital as a painter and had started a small home improvement business. He worked for St. Elizabeth Mutual as an insurance inspector. For the past three years, he drove a school bus for Eugene School where he enjoyed transporting the kids. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, camping and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed woodworking projects. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home. Allen was currently serving as Vice-President of the Parish Council and had served on the Building Committee. He is survived by two sons, Troy Schulte and wife Jennifer of Brazito, and Ben Schulte of Mary's Home; one daughter, Jessica Adrian and husband Travis of Mary's Home; one grandson, Isaac Allen (Ike) Schulte and one grandchild arriving in May; three sisters, Marion Perrey and husband David, Joyce Koerner and husband Rick, Donna Arnel and husband Mark; his mother-in-law, JoAnn (Jo) Koetting; brother and sisters-in-law, John and Bev Koetting, Sheila and Paul Adrian, Dana and Doug Doerhoff, Kathy Muenks, Gina & Mark Adrian. He was "UNC" to 18 very special nieces and nephews. One brother, Stephen Schulte, preceded him in death. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home. Fr. Patrick Shortt will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery in Mary's Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 3:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the church in Mary's Home. There will be a Rosary prayed at 3:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that expressions of condolences be made to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
